Chef Joseph Heidenreich has procured his extensive culinary training in some of the finest restaurants in the United States and across the globe from Mexico to Spain, winning a coveted 5-star Mobile Award for his work in Nashville’s Opryland Hotel, the London and Munich Marriott Hotel’s President’s Service Award, and the Epicurean Competition’s Gold Medal.

His incredible experience with fine wine and food, as well as his membership in the prestigious La Chaîne des Rôtisseurs,™ and the International Wine and Food Society, has earned him a loyal Indianapolis following. Chef Joseph is thrilled to utilize his culinary talent to focus on bringing an eclectic world fusion cuisine to the heart of downtown Indianapolis.

Proprietors of Chef Joseph’s at The Connoisseur Room, John Mays and Tom Forman, are realizing their dream of opening a fine dining luncheon establishment and entertainment venue in the heart of downtown Indianapolis. John brings his extensive experience in party planning and fine dining to new heights with Chef Joseph’s. Over the last 13 years, John has executed over 10,000 events across Indiana, building an incredibly loyal clientele and staff. He welcomes you to this new, elegantly classic downtown destination where he looks forward to serving your executive lunch and special event needs.

John and Tom live in an historic district downtown. Their passion for preservation is evident in their choice of the location for Chef Joseph’s – a 1907 beautifully restored and appointed historic building, with Indiana limestone façade and walnut paneling - while their presentation of special cabaret and live entertainment evenings allows them to express their passion for the arts.

Classically sophisticated, Chef Joseph's warm interior features plush banquettes, walnut paneling, exposed brick walls and architectural accoutrements, reminiscent of a bygone era. A baby grand piano, private boardroom with parquet floors and a two-story wine cellar add to the luxurious ambiance.

Our technological appointments, such as high-speed wireless Internet access, presentation projectors and screens, wireless microphones and surround-sound, make this an ideal place for business and personal events alike.

Our upscale, non-smoking lounge beautifully reflects the refined design of the dining area making this space the perfect location for an after-work office party, or special occasion. The professional bartending staff is adept at the preparation of unique and traditional cocktails. Our bar features an exceptional wine list available by the bottle or glass, an array of local beers along with the best domestics and imports, and top shelf liquors and private reserves. We aim to please the most discriminating tastes.

Our catering menu features the finest cuisine for the quick decision-maker, but will also offer the option of a fully customizable menu for our more hands-on clientele.
